About the Art Residency:
The Jumeirah Creekside Hotel started to launch its own artist in residency program to support creative talents and to strengthen the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel's credentials as vibrant art hub and home to one of the city's largest art collections. The new art residency is a platform to inspire and support artists while connecting guests with Dubai through unique artworks. The ongoing initiative will support international and regional artists in advancing their skills through dedicated spaces, enhanced visibility and endorsement, while providing an inspirational setting from which to create unique pieces of art.
The german contemporary artist Sabrina Pohl is the first invited artist to join the 3 months programme from April till the end of June with a final exhibition showcasing the artworks created during the residency. During the artist stay in the hotel, guests are welcome to visit the Open Studio where they can watch the artist throughout the process of creating.
Sabrina Pohl: Dubai Light
The final exhibition of the art residency "Dubai Light" is highlightning the artworks which were created through an intense exchange with the new environment in Dubai. The exhibition is showcasing in total 12 pieces which were created within two months and 10 drawings from the past years. The constellation of new and old works shall illustrate the influences of the art residency.

Group exhibition featuring 8 International artists represented by 8th Ave. Gallery. This is the first time the gallery has brought together this group of talented artists to Dubai. The gallery is dedicated to developing the art scene here in the Middle East and is excited to debut the work of many of these artists for the first time here locally. “The Starting Point” represents the evolutionary process in abstract painting, where often, the work has no conceived beginning or end. The work itself is constantly changing and continues to evolve and challenge the viewer without any expectation or finality.
