„A flower is not defined solely by its appearance. It can also be expressed through its scent, or through the memory of a gentle touch — petals brushing softly between your fingers. My work seeks to reflect those subtle layers that lie beyond the visible ".

artist statement:

In Sabrina Pohl’s abstract work, she draws on an intuitive use of form to dissolve the visible and the conditioned. In doing so, she opens up new perspectives that aim to create a sense of openness—a space for seeing differently.
These captured glimpses of her surroundings, such as those found in her abstract landscape works, are reduced to fragile, simplified presences through minimal forms and contours. Her practice is shaped by an ongoing exploration of space and light.

Choosing abstraction as a tool allows her to reveal the non-visible without centering the rational:
A flower is not defined solely by its appearance. It can also be expressed through its scent, or through the memory of a gentle touch—petals brushing softly between your fingers.
My work seeks to reflect those subtle layers beyond the visible—through shifting movements in the process, connecting and dissolving elements. It is guided by a feeling of belonging, like the scent of a flower belongs to it without the evidence of seeing the flower itself".

Thanks to her extended stays in the mountains of Tyrol and the valleys of Egypt, Sabrina Pohl conveys a key connecting element in her work:
“Choosing landscapes or sunsets as themes in my work is not romanticism. It’s brutal honesty—an act of opening up. Letting your intuition guide you always makes you feel vulnerable. But it reflects who you are.” Another significant project during her time in Vienna was her 2017 collaboration with Raun LaRose for

New York Fashion Week, which was featured in Highsnobiety, among other platforms.

In general, she describes her process as follows:
For me, creating means continually remaining open throughout the process. It feels like asking the drawing what comes next. Sometimes it’s hard—because your mind wants to tell its own story. And sometimes it’s easy— because you only have to listen.

One of my main intentions is to transform the visible into an essential core, guided by a process of dissolution.
It’s like ending a meaningful conversation—then stepping into the quiet

of the walk home.
This core is neither white nor black—not merely a depiction of a feeling, or of light, or of space, or, ironically,
of infinite nothingness.
It’s your mirror
".
